5 PREP GUIDLINES

Meal prepping can be overwhelming, I've been prepping for a few months now and I've really noticed a difference in my nutrition.  It's a hundred times easier to make a good choice when it comes to food if it's already prepped and ready to go.  Meal prepping takes a little bit of time, but if it's done right it's worth it.

1. START SMALL
The last thing you want to do is prep a whole bunch of food and then waste it.  Try prepping for 3 days this will give you a chance to try it out and see how it works for you

2. FIND FOOD YOU LIKE
There is no reason to prep food you don't like.  If you don't want to eat it now you are most definitely not going to want to eat it later.  Also keep in mind you are going to have to eat it over and over so if you just sorta kinda like it- it's not going to work.  I prep food that I am genuinely excited to eat

3. ONE WORD: WILTED
salads are an awesome item to prep, they are good for you and you can have the VOLUME you're looking for.  However lettuce doesn't always hold up in the fridge.  I've found that chopping my lettuce myself helps because it is more fresh.  Also try to find the newest lettuce you can and items like romaine hearts and spinach hold up a lot better than pre-bagged lettuce.  I also never put dressing on ahead of time.

4. USE A PLANNER
Have an event? working late? keep in mind where you are going to be when prepping.  If I am going to be at home with my husband I make dinner at home (still planned), if I am going to be at an event I decide whether or not it is appropriate to bring my own food or maybe I should choose something healthy there.  If I'm working I am definitely bringing my prepped food, mostly so I don't starve to death.

5. EAT THE FOOD YOU'VE PREPPED
Sounds like a given, but with other options and millions of drive thrus it's easy to eat alternatives.  Don't give in! and pack what you prepped so you are not tempted to eat other items.  In the same token don't buy food you aren't going to prep, if you are only eating the food you're prepping, than when will it get eaten?
